JOB OVERVIEW

The Blog Manager will be responsible for the growth of our new to launch blog, and help build our online business entity.

The right candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in this area and be able to display consistent and successful growth.

You will need to be able to compile and interpret analytics to accurately determine opportunities and amendments of our blog, website, and social media. Thereby recommending future blog topics for our writers and determine what online courses we should create to sell.

Understand the call to action. Know we’re a business with the end goal to convert readers into paying customers.
• Know how and when to include a call to action in our content. More importantly, know when to let a piece stand on its own.
• You should be experienced with and capable in WordPress.
• Know how to set up, maintain and update a blog.
• Know how to customize a blog’s theme and functionality with plugins.
• You should be experienced with the tools necessary to run a campaign and monitor its success. This means analytics software, heat maps, keyword research tools, competitive analysis, split testing and all the rest.

As our content is extremely niche, our in house team of writers will produce the content, however you should be experienced with web writing and SEO.
• Know how to include keywords and links for maximum benefit.
• Prioritize content value over SEO value, to avoid Google penalties.
• Know how to set up your site breadcrumbs, site map and other aspects for maximum SEO benefit.

You must be able to monitor and report on content marketing metrics and show continuous improvement of the content strategy based on analytics.

This role will start as part-time 20hrs per week, however if you are able to demonstrate that sufficient work is present to justify a full-time position then we’d be open to this.

Education/Experience Requirements
o Bachelors degree (Preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a similar field)
o 3+ years experience in digital content strategy and tactics including content creation, editing, running a blog site, analytics, social media marketing and search engine optimization.
o Must have successfully handled numerous digital campaigns from concept through to launch and ongoing growth. Must have no trouble presenting numerous examples in detail.

Critical Skill Requirements
The Content Marketing Specialist position requires a number of skills including:
o Blogging – Successful management of a business blog that furthers organizational goals. Content will be supplied.
o WordPress – The ability to create content within and troubleshoot issues with the WordPress platform. Intermediate skill level.
o Analytics – An excellent command of analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics or Omniture, to adjust marketing strategy and tactics.
o Content Marketing – Demonstrated experience with successful management and execution of a content marketing strategy.
o Independent & Problem Solving Ability – Thrives with taking independence on tasks assigned and able to analyze to provide effective solutions.
o Social Media Marketing – Proven experience using social media channels to distribute and amplify the organization’s content.

Would be good if you had these additional skills:
o Search Engine Optimization – A demonstrated ability to drive traffic to web properties from search engines. Not using potential damaging SEO shortcuts.
o Lead Generation – Demonstrated experience with using digital and/or print content to generate leads and sales.
o Video Editing – A basic ability to edit video content.
o Email Campaigns – Knowledgeable with setting up email campaigns to capture lead opportunities which includes selling online content.
o Copywriting – An understanding of how to create and present content that persuades.
o Editing – Proven editorial skills including strong language skills and the ability to adjust content to remain consistent with brand, style and tone.
