JOB DESCRIPTION:
The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, as well as the ongoing development and monitoring of controls designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
THIS POSITION INCLUDES (BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PLANNING
• Collaborate with Senior Leaders to formulate and support company strategy and initiatives.
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
• Develop financial and tax strategies.
• Manage the capital needs and budgeting processes.
• Collaborate with Senior Leaders and Human Resources to develop key performance indicators (KPI) that support the company’s strategic direction and align staff.
OPERATIONS
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
• Implement company-wide financial reporting and tower asset management systems
• Manage accounting, financial operations, insurance, legal, and tax elements.
• Implement operational best practices and control policies and procedures.
• Participate in cross-functional teams as needed.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
• Implement company-wide financial reporting and tower asset management systems
• Oversee general ledger and accounts reconciliations.
• Supervise payroll process, A/P & A/R teams, and related activities.
• Oversee reporting of financial information to Management and Board of Directors.
• Ensure that recording keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
FUNDING
• Monitor cash balances, day-to-day cash flow, and cash forecasts.
• Arrange for debt and equity financing – including documenting and recording capital funding.
• Advise BOD on investment funds.
THIRD PARTIES
• Maintain banking relationships.
• Represent the company with investment bankers and investors.
• Facilitate business and community relationships within the construction industry
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (strongly preferred).
• 7+ years of accounting and/or finance experience, preferably at the senior level and in the construction industry.
• Fluent in English
• Must be approachable, helpful, and a champion for teamwork and positive change.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Must have strong MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.
