JOB OVERVIEW

Hello

We are a small US-Based IT support company serving small-to-medium sized businesses. We are seeking a Remote Help Desk Support Technician to work around 40 hours per week. The preferred hours would be somewhere around the window: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 3:30pm Central Standard Time USA.

You would be responsible for remotely taking inbound tickets, interfacing with end users via phone & helpdesk, and resolving end user IT issues in a timely basis. You would also be providing some systems administration tasks. You would need to have EXCELLENT spoken English skills (without a noticeable accent) and very good written/grammar skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues relating to desktop/laptop/tablet computers, networks, Windows and Linux servers, wireless, printers/scanners, enterprise applications, and other related equipment.
• Address issues relating to customers on VDI / remote desktops.
• Assist other Help Desk Technicians to address issues.
• Work with vendors in a collaborative manner to resolve issues.
• Communicate with end users by phone, email, and via ticket system
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop/tablet computers, networks, Windows and Linux servers, wireless, printers/scanners, enterprise applications, and other related equipment.
• Perform software and hardware installations and upgrades.
• Assist in documenting commonly occurring issues and fixes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Have 4+ years of experience in a technical support position.
A+ certification, Network+ Certification preferred.
• Have 2+ years Linux server administration experience or have Linux Certification and demonstrate competent Linux server administration skills.
• Have 2+ years Window server administration experience or have Microsoft professional certifications and demonstrate competent Windows Server administration skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems including Windows 7/8/10, Windows Server 2008/2012, Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word, logical networking technologies such as Microsoft's Active Directory and Windows Deployment Services.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux Operating systems including debian based systems and RPM based systems, Bind and Samba4.
• Have 2+ years of experience with Active Directory.
• Responsibilities may require weekend or late evening work in response to the needs of the systems being supported.

PREFERRED:

• Experience with virtualization technology such as VMWare and Citrix XenServe/XenDesktop.
• Experience with telephony/VoIP concepts and equipment.


We would be looking for someone to work on a long-term basis as part of our team, but we would initially want to try you out for a few weeks to see how you perform and how you get along with the team.
