JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking for a detail-oriented construction estimator to join our team. He/She is responsible to obtain all relevant project specifications, determine the most appropriate building materials, and secure favourable prices on all resources.

The successful candidate will be an all-rounder self-starter and team player. You must be able to understand and translate project requirements into quantitative figures with ease and able to meet deadlines.

• Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
• Understanding of the Australian construction market in terms of standards & costing
• Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
• Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
• Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.
• Develops bids for construction projects.
• Works closely with architects and other professionals.
• Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.
• Navigates and understands building codes.
• Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as required.
• Monitors construction processes.
• Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
• Perform other ad hoc duties

Education and Work Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as Construction Estimator/Quantity surveryor.
• Understanding of Australian construction costs
• Graduate of a Quantity Surveying / Engineering / Architectural Degree.
• Managed multiple projects varying in size, value & complexity
• Solid experience in forecasting estimates & budgeting of projects
• Knowledge of relevant technical and non-technical documents.
• Sound construction knowledge & good grasp of building codes.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under own initiative.
