JOB OVERVIEW
The Role:
As a system and process based with business, generating significant volumes of data our Assistant Accountant must have strong excel, analysis and reconciliation skills.
You will be extremely efficient and effective at manipulating data along with analysing and interpreting this data, to ensure correct charges from suppliers. The successful applicant will be able to deliver business intelligent insights to improve business decisions.
The role requires a person with exceptionally strong data manipulation capability as well as extremely strong excel skills. This role has a strong focus on Accounts Payable.
Role Responsibility:
> Weekly courier / transport checking - analysis of csv files received against ERP system data
> Monthly warehouse checking - analysis of csv files against ERP system data
> Resolving queries arising from month-end checking with suppliers
> Effective communication of issues and escalation as required
> Oversee & assist with the capture invoices
> Assist in management of Accounts Payable
> Vendor reconciliations
> Report preparation with insights
> Fuel levy updates and additional charges uploads
> Monthly reports
> Ad hoc tasks and reports
Skills and Requirements:
> CPA qualified accountant - or studying towards
> 5+ years of experience in Accounts Assistant is essential
> Advanced Excel skills
> Willing to work in is a fast paced and constantly changing environment
> Extremely fast learner
> Experience with logistics, shipping and 3PL an advantage
> Understand cubic charging in the shipping industry
> Varying models of charging in the freight industry, you will be expected to learn these so that you can evaluate charges, and differences to determine if they need to be queried
> you will need to quickly understand the billing models used so you can check and evaluate
> As a minimum advanced knowledge of pivot tables and VLOOKUP's as well as complicated excel formulas
> Data analysis skills
> Strong English writing skills
> Strong English verbal communication skills and a good communicator
> Enjoy the challenge of number / data manipulation
> Comfortable with routine and repetitive analysis
> Strong analytical thinker
> A curious mind that needs to understand data matching with the ability to evaluate and analyse until logical explanations are backed with data / facts
> Capable of escalating and seeking assistance when necessary
> Accuracy and attention to detail
> Prioritising when you have many tasks to complete, deadlines cannot be missed
> Ability to work from home in an unsupervised manner
> A powerful recent PC that can crunch data
> Accounting degree and professional body membership
Technology:
BioPak is extremely technology focused to ensure that anything that can be managed by systems are, with the aim that people can focus on areas that only people can do. You will need to be extremely comfortable in the use of technology.
We use cloud-based business process systems (NetSuite) and Google Apps to manage communication and file sharing.
