Senior Trust Accountant

This is a great opportunity to for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients boutique Sydney based Legal and Financial Services firm.

You will have a keen eye for detail and ability to understand how transactions should be allocated in Xero. As an expert in your field you will have prior experience with working across the broader accounting function for Australian clients with a sound knowledge of Australian Taxation Law.

Your main responsibility is to oversee a company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll and daily financial entries and ---------- sential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements and compliance with the ---------- velops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
Must have experience in trust accounting and balance sheet configuration.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and ---------- dit accounts for discrepancies and make relevant adjustments to reflect accurate ---------- plies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to executives.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as ---------- cation and Work Experience:
With a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting with Australian Clients.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting.
Must be an expert with Xero
Must have worked with Australian Companies – previous experience working with a law firm is an advantage.
Must have sound knowledge of how to allocate and report on trust (liability) accounts and transactions.
Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles.
Able to prepare, review and understand financial statements.
Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Other Requirements

Must have stable power and internet – never go down internet preferred
Looking for a long-term engagement
Must be very experience with allocating funds to a trust account, recording transactions and provide reporting for transparency and client billing.
Must be reliable and dedicated.
