Medical practice seeks a detail oriented, reliable, and caring individual to join our committed team of professionals. Our providers and staff strive to create a distinctive health care experience for each patient - one focused on respectful relationships, teamwork, integrity and customer service.
This role specializes in insurance verification and authorization for outpatient mental health services. Excellent English written/speaking communication skills are necessary to insure the delivery of a great experience and excellent patient care.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Communicates with the patient regarding the visit and/or procedure(s)
· Verifies the patient’s insurance eligibility and benefits
· Obtains prior authorization from the patient’s insurance carrier
· Determines the patient’s cost for the visit/procedure
· Provides information to the appropriate staff to insure the delivery of high quality, cost- effective health care services.
At least 1 year of prior medical billing insurance verification experience required. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week with a daily schedule of approximately 8hrs during Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Requirements:
-Excellent English skills and the ability to interface with patients, physicians, and outside vendors in a timely, appropriately, caring, and efficient manner.
-Motivated, proactive, and a self-starter. A friendly and positive attitude is a must.
-Reliable internet connection is required as well as notice prior to any absence/sick days etc.
-Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in written
-Hold excellent customer service skills and be professional, dependable, and personable.
-Must be efficient, accurate, and have a friendly confident demeanor.
-Be able and willing to multi-task & perform under the pressure of a busy mental health office as well as change focus and re-prioritize as needed.
-Highly organized in all areas of responsibilities and the ability to multi-task is essential.
-Possess strong computer skills (standard business, office, and medical applications including but not limited to Electronic Medical Records such as Kareo, Google, Dropbox, Excel, Word, google Sheets/Drive)
-Knowledge of HIPPA and Patient Privacy rights, at all times.

-Charging patient responsibility fees, explaining these fees to patients and dealing with dispute resolution
