JOB OVERVIEW

A Senior Content Producer recognizes that the old days of "SEO writing" are dead. This senior role requires an advanced degree in business, journalism, or marketing and more than five years of full-time work as a business writer in journalism or B2B marketing. The Content Producer will have a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of B2B marketing alongside a leading consultant building technology startup companies.

As a Senior Content Producer at Growth Stage Marketing, you'll create content that shares our story and that of our clients, promoting brands and impacting many digital platforms, starting with LinkedIn. We build early-stage startup companies with marketing that works. This role is a critical extension for our founder, as you will work directly with him to execute much of the content and marketing programs needed by our technology startup company clients.

This role is ideal for a creative writer who enjoys moving people with words and likes performing technical tasks like updating WordPress websites and using marketing/email automation systems (HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, etc.) - or building web analytics reports (Google Analytics).

What does a Content Producer do, typically?

Content Producers are creative storytellers. They follow company brand guidelines to ensure the messaging and content produced is consistent with company guidelines/value/mission. Content Producers are highly skilled at performing industry research, writing, developing, and promoting a company's brand, service, technology, or product through the various digital content that they produce. Familiarity with the ABT narrative framework, StoryBrand, or an ability to adapt is critical. B2B marketing is all about publishing, and publishing requires a compelling narrative to capture the market's attention. Content Producers do so much more than write "SEO content."

Produce and publish content. The best Digital Content Producers can successfully contribute to a wide variety of digital content platforms – websites, blogs, videos, mobile, social media, and more. Digital Content Producers must have journalism and writing educational background and work experience, with practical hands-on experience using content management systems like WordPress and website analytics products such as Google Analytics. At the same time, they also should be versed in using marketing/email automation systems (HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, etc.). They will often write, review, edit, and then publish the content that they produce.

More specifically, you'll get to:

- Write, edit, and publish content for websites, blogs, videos, social media posts/campaigns, email campaigns, podcasts, e-books, whitepapers, and more.

- Create content that motivates, inspires, educates, informs, sells, and strengthens the POV and category messaging across various digital platforms.

- Use your editing, content management, and WordPress skills to publish and edit content across multiple digital platforms, including email and social.

- Use your knowledge of SEO and content development to create digital content that helps our clients get found on Google and showcase our company as a leader.

- Become an influencer who impacts the company and our clients through the production of digital content.

If you have an advanced degree (Masters preferred) in Journalism, Marketing, or Business, and have been looking for a way to grow your professional experience by contributing to the go-to-market activities of technology companies, but you don't want to do freelance work jumping from startup to startup, this could be the perfect role for you. If you do not have an advanced degree, but you can demonstrate that you have the experience and skill that we are seeking, please apply.

How to apply:

In addition to sending your CV, please write the following-

1. Please tell me how you learn and what your research process is.

2. Send me your best B2B marketing writing along with a description of the project. Did you work from an outline? Provided a general topic and developed the content from scratch? Did you have a rough draft created by another person to build on?

3. Pick any of the blogs or podcast articles on ---------- and write an outline for a "part 2" of the article. How would you extend it? What do you think could be amplified? (there are no wrong answers here)

I am looking for a long-standing relationship and plan to build a small team of superstar marketers; if you meet the requirements and are excited by the opportunity, I look forward to hearing from you.
