JOB OVERVIEW

The project will be a multibody dynamics simulation of the two gearbox bearing setups (tapered roller bearing and spherical roller bearing) in the purpose of vibration analysis. The multibody analysis is performed at various specific wind speeds and wind turbine power rating. The 3D model to be used in the project is provided and is programmable through COMSOL software. The project will consist of two multibody analyses of two different models. The results that will be generated shall consist of: Von Mises Stress distribution, time history of the normal acceleration, frequency spectrum, and other graphs and data that can be used for the vibration analysis.

Video and photo documentation of the simulation process is preferred but not required.
Queries regarding the project shall be contacted through the employer. The COMSOL version to be used is not specified, thus will depend on the modeler/simulator’s available software.
