Senior Software Engineer

AreaTen is a successful marketing technology company that is focused on building and enhancing a variety of software to help our clients make more money online. Due to growth we are looking for top performers to join our existing team.

This is a hands on role, if you've only been managing a team in the past year don't bother applying. If you are only interested in managing a team, also don't bother applying as we want people who are experts in execution. This is a full-time job, so if you wanted to work part-time or on a consultancy basis, please don't bother applying. You should also be willing to take a 2-hour exam for you to be considered for the position.

Qualifications:

- Should have an extensive experience in using core PHP, particularly in the usage of Code Igniter framework.

- Should have an advanced knowledge in using MySQL, should be able to perform query and database optimisations.

- Able to setup and maintain: web servers, database servers, proxy servers, DNS servers, etc.

- Should have a solid experience in using Debian Linux on a production environment.

- Should have an experience in load balancing and data replication.

- Should know how to use/build/tinker with an API.

- Can work under pressure and meet specific deadlines. We need someone reliable, can work on multiple projects, can produce decent and well tested applications, and someone who can handle production environment.

- Additional: expected to be knowledgeable in Bash, Expect, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Advanced), and Frameworks such as (Bootstrap, jQuery, Ext Js, etc.).

Must have:
* A good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, and can work in an Agile environment.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Great internet connection
