WordPress Developer

We are a Houston-based digital marketing agency.

We are looking for a web developer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining WordPress websites. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of software development experience and have WordPress and WooCommerce experience. The Developer will work with our project manager and lead developer to help design and shape unique, user-friendly products and experiences. As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable with both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and server maintenance. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

This is a full-time job with flexible hours but we will need a few hours that cross our Houston morning time zone.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage WordPress monthly software updates of client websites
- CORE capabilities would include a high level of PHP, Javascript knowledge
- Building websites in page builder from provided mock-ups and applying CSS/coding as needed
- Perform monthly support requests from clients (through our support ticket center)
- Develop WordPress themes for new client projects.
- Develop and manage custom and sometimes complex WordPress-based solutions.
- Create or customize plugin features to client websites (WordPress)
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the WordPress CMS.
- Work to resolve issues related to WordPress websites and client hosting
- Assist in maintaining client’s website speed performance and security.
- Providing coaching and leadership to other members of the team on processes and best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
- Helping to create a scalable development process.
- Help maintain our hosting servers.
- Aid the sales team and internal accounts team with general technical questions and project planning.
