JOB OVERVIEW

Hey everyone!

We are looking for a part time Video editor to join our team. 10-20 hours/week. Our company specializes mostly in real estate videos, social media edits and marketing videos for properties, small businesses, and people.

If selected you will join our team of video editors and when we book new shoots you will be notified immediately. Sometimes there will be plenty of notice and sometimes you can pick up extra work 1 day before or even same day, and you do not have to accept anything you don't want to.

We're looking for talented, efficient and passionate editors that can meet deadlines (from shoot to edit needing to be done is about 12-16 hours and most edits should take 45 - 1.5 hours if you are proficient)

We're looking to increase the quality of our videos while simultaneously shortening turn around time. The real estate tours are very similar in style so you will end up figuring out a speedy workflow as the shooters all shoot for the edit and in the proper order (if they are unable to you will be given notes on the order of how things should play and any specific requests from the clients)

You must know how to:
1 cut to the beat
2 do proper speed ramps and speed ramp transitions
3 Add tasteful motion blur to speed ramps
3 set a proper pace for slower real estate videos and also faster paces when given other types of videos to edit
4 Simple transitions are used sparingly and when requested we can get fancy but for the most part we use speed ramp transitions, cross disolves and smooth zoom transitions. Lumafade and mask transitions if done properly will be a great addition to our videos to help set us apart from the competition but we do not want tons of transitions. Often a hard cut to the beat is best
5 Must know how work with audio, the video clips will need to be muted, music from epidemic sound will be played in the background and when our clients are talking you must be able to keyframe smooth and professional audio transition lowering the music when they talk and back to normal when its just the tour
6 You must know how to work with 60p footage we generally interpret the footage to 24p on a 24p timeline so everything is ultra smooth for the tours. You will have to pic the best portion of the clip to play as once its slown down the clips are very long. You can see from our cuts we pick the best in an out points while still keeping to the beat and showing whats important. We often add drone footage and if you look at our work you will see its generally easy to see where it belongs on the timeline and sometimes we do speedramp the 4k footage which can require a pretty decent mac and or a proxy workflow.

7 Use of motion graphics and placing premade assets from the clients onto the videos (we make 2 versions one with the client speaking and all their branding, and one with no speaking and no branding which they use to post on the MLS)

You will have to identify and use the best clips of when our clients are speaking, generally they want 1 good take with no jumpcuts so you must find those takes and use them. (hint usually the last take)

Also tell us how you see yourself adding to our team. How can you make our videos better? We could use more BROLL over our talking segments, we do have a green screen that can be used from time to time so chroma key experience can be an asset.

Final Cut is mandatory, our in office staff all uses final cut, and in the case of a quick change.adjustment, we will use the project file instead of going back and forth.

If you are a hard worker, creative, and effecient there will be plenty of more work if you desire full time work. Video Blogs, commercials, Instagram content, promo videos ads for ---------- and facebook etc.

We have a few sister companies and the owner is also a realtor so we are constantly making different promo videos and different ads for the team and other businesses.
