Meteorologist and Site Operations Forecaster

The Offshore and Site Operations Forecaster is responsible for generating forecasts for various global projects that may include moving marine operations or fixed land/sea locations. The analyst is trained in these skills for all ---------- SENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The analyst will analyze weather patterns, across several forecast models, to provide 6-hour forecasts with included, but are not limited to, wind and wave data. The candidate should have a good understanding of ocean movements and wave/swell ---------- ndidates must also possess quality written communication skills to express often complex reasoning for advice given.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Education and/or experience in subjects of meteorology, oceanography, geography, or navigation principles receive the highest preference. Ability to read and interpret basic weather and oceanographic information desired, but additional weather training will be provided. Must be able to work with computers and learn proprietary applications, as AMI is a paperless all-computer environment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS: This analyst position may work from one of the locations of the operations centers, either Norman, Oklahoma or Colorado Springs, CO, and is entirely performed on systems operating proprietary software applications.

SALARY NOTES: While this is noted as entry-level, it is recognized that the minimum qualifications identified here are above traditional base skills. The term used here is relative to AMI's organization. The actual base salary is initially set within a range of $38K – $42K /yr basis the candidate's skillset. Salary is likely to adjust after a 3-4 month training period dependent on demonstrated skill development, proficiency, and productivity. Experienced candidates would be evaluated for a higher salary and promotion timeline dependent on the merit of abilities and performance.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: The base is 10 hours per day, generally four days per week, amounting to a 40-hour workweek. However due to the structure of the required forecast send times, some 12-hour shifts are required. Shifts include mostly evenings. Periodic changes of workdays may be required to compensate for the holiday periods of other tea ---------- mbers.
