Altenew, a New York based paper crafting products company, is looking for a dedicated Public Relation Specialist

Public Relations Specialist builds and maintains a positive public image for a company or products. They create media, from press releases to social media messages, that shape public opinion of the company or organization and increase awareness of its brand.

A proactive and detail-oriented individual who coordinates public relations efforts, promotes campaigns and special events, plans and produces events, and provides departmental administrative support.

Public Relations Specialist Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with brands in crafting/other industries and collaborate with the product development team on possible cross-sell opportunities
- Create, develop and evaluate the public relations plan and strategy.
- Manage weekly/monthly/annual calendars and media contact lists.
- Pitch and secure new media opportunities on weekly basis (media pitches, press releases and speaker submissions)
- Maintain an understanding of industry trends and create communications strategies and recommendations based on them
- Coordinate all public relations activities, document media coverage, and track PR metrics
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the industry
- Manage the development of PR material (print/online/video) that includes proofreading of social media content, videos, press releases, emails, and other public materials
- Work closely with the Business Development and Brand Partnerships

Skills and Qualifications
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Knowledge of traditional and digital media and social media.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
