Content Writer / SEO - Canadian Business Blog

We are looking for a full time, remote Content writer to join our amazing team.

SALARY: 40,000 to 60,000 Pesos per month depending on qualifications and experience

EXPERIENCE: Experience writing for an English language blog or online publication is required. Experience writing about business, technology and software applications helpful.

TRAINING: On the job training will be provided.

HOURS: 9am to 5pm (PDT / GMT-7), 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (schedule flexibility available once 90 day probation period is up)

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: Canadian Public Holidays Apply

LOCATION: The candidate will be working from home

THE ROLE
Avalon Accounting is a growing online accounting services company in need of a Full Time content writer to help build our online resource database (blog).

We’re looking for someone who has excellent writing skills and experience writing in-depth articles about business, technology, and software applications. The main goal is to provide truly useful information for our web audience while using strong SEO practices to help us reach more readers.

The successful applicant will be working closely with our head of marketing to research, write and publish interesting and useful articles on our blog. There will also be opportunity to participate in other forms of media such as video creation and social media. This is a great opportunity to further learn and develop your skills in SEO, writing and research.


DUTIES
The Content Writer is responsible for a range of content creation related duties. You will work within a team in a virtual environment.

WRITING ARTICLES: We will provide solid outlines and summaries to be researched and built out into well-thought-out articles.

MONITORING SEO AND WEB TRAFFIC: The successful applicant will monitor our analytics and use that information to improve traffic, keyword coverage and search engine results.

RESEARCHING ADDITIONAL CONTENT IDEAS: After gaining understanding of our audience, the successful applicant will complete research to come up with new content ideas.

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT: The successful applicant will edit and maintain the blog to ensure that links are up-to-date and that the content is well organized.

PREPARING SCRIPTS FOR VIDEO SHOOTS: The successful applicant will help to create scripts from the articles for our video team to turn into video content.

SOCIAL MEDIA WORK: There will also be some social media post creation and posting work to be done related to the blog articles and video content.

OTHER: Other content creation, marketing and website administration duties as required.


YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
FLUENT: You will be fluent in spoken and especially written ---------- e of appropriate grammar and punctuation is necessary.

EXPERIENCED: You have experience writing and posting well-written blog articles for the purpose of reader education and traffic acquisition.

TECH SAVVY: Are tech savvy and interested in learning and researching the latest apps. We always want to know if there is a better way to do things.

SOFTWARE USE: This role will use many different types of software. Experience using Google G Suite, Video calls (Zoom), Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO Tools is ---------- dia editing experience would also be a benefit (Canva, Photoshop, Video editing software, etc.)
