Wordpress Site Set Up

I have spent hours trying to figure out how to set up my website (mainly my blog). I want it to look professional. I have purchased an elegant theme and watched tutorials on layouts but I am still struggling. I would like help formatting the pages within my site and helping with plugins for the items that I would like loaded (subscribe, lead pages, etc.)
