Senior PHP Developer

Our goal for 2015 was to start a revolution and transform the global events industry. So far, so good. Our movement is gaining momentum, with over 6,000 event suppliers having joined us.
We’re still a bit underground though, so if you haven’t heard of us yet, we’re a Swiss based company testing the waters here in South Africa. We want to be the ‘go to’ place for the global events industry, connecting event hosts and suppliers with ease, and the world is starting to take notice.

Of course, with great growth comes great responsibility to deliver an even better product. And so we are looking for Senior PHP Developers to join our growing development team.
Requirements

This role runs along a steep learning curve, and it is envisaged that it will be a full-time role with an immediate start date. You will be leading a team of passionate developers and put all your years of experience to good use to meet tight deadlines and revolutionize an industry – chiefly responsible for developing new features and fixing bugs.

In order to fulfil this position, we require that you:
Have 5+ Years of experience as a PHP Developer;
Are extremely comfortable with MVC Frameworks, experience with Laravel is a plus;
Be knowledgeable about HTML/CSS/JS;
Possess insight in applying design patterns to complex problems as needed;
Hold an interest in improving development processes that result in faster deployment and higher code quality;
Are able to work in a team using agile methodologies;
Have strong written and verbal communication skills, which you can draw on to work with the development team and key stakeholders;
Display a positive team attitude and would be ready to help out colleagues and provide constructive feedback;
Are competent with Git Repositories and version control; and
Experience in developing, testing and maintaining a full stack (web, database, deployments).
A passion for learning new skills, technologies and best practices is a prerequisite for this role. Experience with AWS and/or ElasticSearch will be considered a bonus.
