JOB OVERVIEW

FilmDoo is a new online film platform redefining the way people discover and watch great films from around the world. We are looking for a Content Writer and Engagement Officer who has a love for films to join us on this exciting journey. The role would involve writing content for our website and blog which could include film reviews, articles and comments. It is key that the candidate is able to produce high volumes of written content daily. The role is a dual role as the candidate would also act as an Engagement Officer, interacting with other members on the site to help start discussions and drive engagements. The ideal candidate would have strong writing skills and be able to write in a casual, friendly and engaging manner. It is also important that the candidate has a keen interest in foreign language cinema.

We are a UK company but are about to launch internationally. The role would be three-month full time (with 3 week probation period) to start off with but there would be an opportunity to come on board as part of the FilmDoo team. Our core team is based in London although we have team members in Sydney, Bangkok and New York and are used to remote working.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creating written content, including film reviews and comments, for our FilmDoo.com website, blog, SEO purposes and marketing material
• Respond and interact to users in our community
• Identifying trending topics in films and film industry to write about
• Help generate ideas for articles and content for editorial and marketing purposes


REQUIREMENTS:

• Full time role, 40 hours per week
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Reliable high speed internet connection and quality computer for regular Skype calls
• Strong English language and written skills
• Write and reply in a friendly, chatty style (most important)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word
• Photoshop, Illustrator or design experience would be helpful as there may be instances of image editing required to submit with written content
• Ability to work fast and upload high volumes of data to meet daily targets
• Passion for writing and films, especially international and independent films
