Full Stack Developer – Part Time can become Full Time, with potential for Advancement
MAJOR ADVANTAGE for someone who can also handle project management within their team but not required as there are multiple positions available.
COMPANY PROFILE:
Magellan Team is a small international web design, development and marketing company registered in Utah with a mission to provide better service with greater social responsibility. We work primarily with small to medium sized businesses to help them better utilize technology at a lower cost without having to try and work with a non-native English speaker in a different time zone, while providing education and employment to people in developing countries.
Although our teams have been working in the industry for many years, Magellan Team has been working as a small freelance project while preparing for the time to make a full push. The time is now, and we need the initial development team to help build the company.
The owner and manager is an American who lives 6 months of the year in the Philippines, and speaks fluent Tagalog. English speaking skills are not required for this position.
POSITION PROFILE:
Remote, Part-Time Full-Stack Developer – work from your home!
• We are working to build an aggressive deadline driven team of and need 2 or more able to work part time and ready to become full time once enough projects are in line. They will be tasked with proactively working on their own towards common goals.
• Position requires proactive work. You will be told the final goal with minimal guidance on how to accomplish it, and will be expected to develop your own plan and react to adjustments and guidance along the way.
• Set your own hours working 20 to 25 hours per week. Flexability in times worked always available as long as you are producing good work. Taking the day off to attend your daughter’s school program encouraged. Not working on weekends encouraged (unless there is a major deadline)
• You will be offered training and support, but will largely be given control over how you accomplish your tasks. We believe that there is no single “right” person or method for this position, and that you will work more effectively if allowed to use your own skills and talents.

Full-Stack Developers who communicate well and regularly, seek help when they are stuck, express their own ideas and opinions instead of just saying “yes”, and give updates and feedback will be the perfect candidate for this position.
ROLE PROFILE:
Creates beautiful, cutting edge websites based on client requirements and feedback from various stakeholders. Although the majority of projects will be simple, must be able and ready to accomplish more complicated sites and features as well.
• Organize tasks and work from priorities
• Work independently AND with others to accomplish goals
• Convert PSD or other design files into beautiful, hand coded websites
• Ability to understand the “Big Picture” goal of the finished site, and work towards that goal
• Accepts feedback and changes positively
• Communicate regularly with management and supervisors
Skills:
Required
• PHP (We’ll be moving to php 7 soon! Are you ready for that?)
• HTML
• CSS
• Javascript
• Responsive design
• Communication skills such as maintaining task lists, giving updates, and asking for help when needed
Advantageous but not required
• PHP Frameworks such as codeIgnitor, Laravel, and Zend Framework
• Wordpress experience (the majority, but not all, of our projects are Wordpress based)
• Magento theming and/or extension development
• Java (occasionally used for custom projects)
• SASS
• Git/bitbucket
• Server maintenance
• Domain maintenance
• Basic graphic design
• Basic photo editing
