Job Title:
Part-Time Math Tutor for 8th Grade Student (U.S. – Mississippi)
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and engaging Math Tutor to work one-on-one with an 8th-grade student in Mississippi, USA. The goal is to provide academic support, strengthen problem-solving skills, and ensure mastery of math concepts aligned with U.S. middle school standards.
This is a long-term, part-time position with consistent weekly hours. Sessions will be conducted online via Zoom or Google Meet.
Responsibilities:
Conduct three 45–60 minute sessions per week focusing on pre-algebra, algebra, and other 8th-grade math concepts.
Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that align with U.S. curriculum standards.
Assign short practice exercises between sessions and review progress regularly.
Use interactive examples and real-world applications to make learning engaging.
Provide feedback to the parent on progress after each week.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in 8th-grade math and algebra.
Experience teaching or tutoring middle school students online.
Clear English communication skills for explaining concepts.
Stable internet connection and quiet teaching environment.
Familiarity with online teaching tools (Zoom, Google Docs, Google Slides).
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field.
Prior experience tutoring U.S.-based students.
Schedule:
Must be available between 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM Mississippi Central Standard Time (6:00 AM – 7:30 AM Philippine Standard Time).
Consistent weekly schedule with occasional flexibility.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate (to be discussed based on experience).
Paid weekly via Wise, PayPal, or other agreed method.
