Lead Website Designer (Expert)

We are looking for a great person to lead our web design team and take our web design services to a new level. We are a 25-year-old company with an amazing stable of clients and our current designer is leaving after 3 years with us to pursue other opportunities. We have an amazing team, half of which is based in the Phillippines, the other half in Canada.

This job WILL require the employee to work 4 hours within our Pacific Time Zone from 9am - 1pm PT. If you cannot accommodate this, this job is not a good fit for you.

Established companies StepForth and First Dentist (hereto SFD) are looking for an expert web designer to create amazing user experiences for in-house designs and Clientele and manage a small team of supporting staff. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful web design with an established portfolio. They should also have strong user interface design skills.

The successful candidate will be able to work directly with clients to interpret their desires into beautiful, intuitive, and functional designs that conform to search engine guidelines for page speed and load time. They will also have graphic design skills suitable to manipulate imagery for site use and create moderate to advanced vector graphics when required.

Most importantly, the candidate wants a long-term position with many opportunities for growth, increased salary, and has the ability to manage others well.

Responsibilities

- Designing and prototyping websites, using tools such as Adobe XD
- Proficiency with Adobe CC Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
- Understanding of UI & UX principles and how to employ them.
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to the SEO team and/or web programmers
- Experience with personnel management
- Strong HTML & CSS skills
- Communicate regularly with key stakeholders at SFD and the Client
- Utilize SFD’s task-management software (Teamwork) diligently to provide insights into the effective use of time and work closely with our Project Manager.
- Conceptualize original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex roadblocks
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas
- Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and stakeholders
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards
- Time management and problem solving while working on multiple projects at once.
- Communicating with clients to discuss requirements and/or project progress.
- Demonstrating and receiving feedback from clients and teammates.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to complete projects on time.
