Legal Assistant

Description:

Seeking someone with a passion for helping injured victims. This is a full time (40 hours per week) Legal Assistant position for a growing Plaintiff Personal Injury Law Firm.

Requirements:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must be efficient, effective & expeditious
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Must have exceptional communication and written skills
• Knowledge of insurance coverage types and policies (preferred but not required)
• Personal injury experience (preferred but not required)

Job Description:
• Manage personal injury cases from inception to closing
• Gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents
• Enter pertinent information into Attorney Software Program
• Prepare documents and correspondence such as billing inquiries
• Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills, liens, and loss of income
• Scan in incoming mail and notify attorneys of any urgency immediately
• Handle incoming and outgoing e-faxes
• Dairy follow-up tasks on files in the attorney case management system
• Coordinate and schedule hearings, mediations, and depositions as needed
• Preparing demand packages
• Prepare medical bill reductions and follow up on them
• Preparation of Closing Statements
• Organize and maintain personal injury files
• Manage medical care of clients
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance companies, adjusters, doctors & attorneys
• Explain procedures or forms to clients
• Maintain contact with clients on a regular basis
• Any other tasks/duties required by the attorneys as needed
• Help with marketing projects
• General assistance to attorneys

Language:
• English - required
• Spanish – preferred but not required
• Creole – preferred but not required
