Computer Program to be Built

We have a large database & search process that is used on a daily Upgrade to see actual infoarching within cells of Excel is difficult - especially if we want to highlight certain words vs. entire cells. We need color coding and automation. And we need it to be Upgrade to see actual info doesn't have to be pretty (although that would be fun) but it does need to work every single day.

I've envisioning a computer program that hasn't been built before. Something that can be used on Mac + PC. Something that will require little to no maintenance. And something that can be modified on an adhoc basis by our team (we will need to remove & add data within it on a daily basis).

I know creating something that will work for us is possible BUT I am a start-up company and need it to make financial sense for us to move from Excel into a proprietary system/program.
