We have an internet business that has been steadily growing and has a staff of over 40 full-time remote contractors. We seek an operations and marketing manager to lead an operations team, improve our efficiencies, and achieve our growth and quality goals.

We seek a cultural fit in our international organization. We communicate honestly/transparently/straightforwardly with each other and our clients. We are independent and self-responsible, optimistic, constantly learning, and accountable. Generally most of our team works from home, and we currently have no headquarters. The right candidate will have strong technology and systems experience, leadership and multi-tasking skills, and the ability to be hands-on with creating and reviewing proposals.

You need to be comfortable with a high level of documenting and remote-work tools, both so that you can have visibility into the operations of your team, and so that the CEO can easily review your own progress (daily during your initial engagement and weekly thereafter).

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a 2-year plan that will achieve the business unit’s goals of at least doubling revenue in that time, and set the stage for continued growth for 5+ years

A secure technology platform that meets expectations, is properly backed up, ensures the safety of company and client data, and continues becoming more useful for internal teams and external clients.

Work a minimum of averaging full-time (40 hours per week), utilizing a desktop computer with 2 or more monitors provided by the company,
Utilize company time-management and screen/time-tracking software to track your own work time
Coordinate with others in global time zones as necessary

About You:
You’re the kind of person who gets things ---------- task, large or small, is a problem to ---------- will be delivered on time, within budget and with a smile.
You have a lot of experience in marketing: lead generation, lead nurturing, sales. You have made hundreds or even thousands of mistakes in the past in marketing, so that you know many things not to do - and you have successfully created many marketing campaigns, and optimized them to be even better. Some of this experience has involved mobile applications and tracking of mobile conversion data.
People depend on you and you won’t let them down.
You know the key to your success lies in robust personal organization and your ability to plan ahead. You have systems and checklists to make sure tasks get done the right way every time and you’re always alert for a better way to solve a problem.
You're able to adapt to some of the organization's existing systems (even if imperfect) pending possible improvements.
You’re rarely scrambling to meet a deadline – it’s all been arranged well in advance. That means you can keep calm when there is a problem to solve or a crisis to manage.
You keep a lot of information in your head, but that’s not the only place you keep it. You also keep records for others to read if they need to.
You are confident in your communications skills, whether it’s writing a report, requesting input from other members of the team or dealing with a dissatisfied customer, you can strike the right note and achieve the result you wanted. You enjoy helping others.
You may have had a varied career to date. You’ve acquired a wide range of skills and you still enjoy the occasional challenge of doing something new. You have experience keeping multiple projects on track.
You understand finance and can prepare a cash flow forecast or a model of ROI without difficulty, or get the results you need from an accountant and understand them.
You’ve managed people, both directly and indirectly, and you know how to get the best out of different personality types, plus you are good at conflict resolution.
You are able to set long term goals and maintain progress towards them by breaking each one down into a list of short term goals. You follow through on deadlines and are proactive about unexpected obstacles.
You enjoy being part of a virtual team and don’t lose any motivation when working alone for significant periods of time. You’re ready for a new chapter, one that will use all of your skills and still allow you to work from your home base.
You're comfortable with ambiguity, change, project management, hiring, firing, evaluating, goal-setting, coordinating, and love seeing your direct reports take on more and more responsibility as they gain skills.
