Website Developer

I am looking for a freelancer or full-time WordPress Developer to join my small start up marketing team. I am looking for someone who is well versed in agile development practices, can update existing websites, has experience working with remote teams, and is interested in optimizing and extending existing code bases. The ideal candidate is passionate about great user experience, modern visual designs, and is curious about new digital technologies.

Ultimately, I am looking for someone who is reliable, competent, and understand what it takes to get tasks done.

The successful applicant will need to be prepared to do a coding test, do not apply if you are not willing to do the test.

Your Responsibilities:
Work closely with the design team and create new web pages based on mockups
Work mainly with html, css, js, php and Gutenberg to build and manage websites
Optimize our website for maximum speed and SEO rankings
Code mobile-based features
Always stay consistent with our brand guidelines
Receive and act on feedback from the Marketing and Design team
Make suggestions for better solutions to problems

Skills Required:
1- 5 years experience in WordPress (Elementor and WooCommerce is a must)
Proficient with using Gutenberg page builder
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites for desktop, mobile and tablet
Experience building high-scale websites with the WordPress CMS, including themes, child themes, plug-in and add-on development
Proficient in WordPress, CSS 3, HTML 5, JavaScript, jQuery, and WordPress coding best practices

Bonus (nice but not necessary):
Experience optimizing WordPress sites for speed. Specifically, CWV (Core web vitals), PSI (Page Speed Insights), Lighthouse.

Other Requirements:
Be detail-oriented and work quickly to meet deadlines
Eye for modern design
Fluent in English

Work Location:
Remote/Work from Home

Schedule:
You must be available to answer emails/messages frequently. We will meet 2 times per week. Please ensure that you are available before applying.
