What does success look like as our Product Category Brand Manager?

A successful Product Category Brand Manager functions as the lead strategist for specific product portfolios. Approach our business with a CEO mindset - develop a business plan and budget for each product portfolio you manage with the aim of increasing sales volume and contribution margins. Implement a data-driven approach to evaluate, adjust and maximize the success of each of your product listings on Amazon

They evaluate the competition regularly, coordinate advertising campaign strategies, monitor advertising performance, perform ongoing keyword research for SEO and establish growth strategies for their product portfolios.

They manage and lead product optimization efforts to increase the organic ranking of products and increase the profitability of products. They conduct experiments such as increasing prices, decreasing prices, adding coupons, changing main images, changing titles, etc to help increase organic ranking, CTR, CVR & ultimately profits.

They have a never-ending desire to stay up-to-date with the latest changes and updates to the Amazon advertising platform, & Amazon ranking algorithm to ensure the product categories that you manage are using the latest best practices and approaches.

They are able to grow sales and increase the profitability of product portfolios YOY. They ensure that 33% of our focus keywords are ranked in the top 10 of search results every month, they conduct a minimum of 2 experiments per month, and ensure portfolio advertising costs are breakeven or better each month.

Primary Objectives 20% BIG ROCKS – These must be done first and at all costs.

1. Analyze Amazon data (keyword ranking, sales, conversation rate, sessions, etc.) to determine why certain products are trending up or down and develop strategies to quickly spot and fix low margin and low growth products
2. Create business plans outlining all strategic opportunities for your product portfolio, associated costs, timelines, and resources required to achieve a successful outcome.
3. Utilize data to assess facets of the product and determine if there is room for optimization and increased profit margin.

Regular Work Activities 80% – These must be done ongoing daily/weekly after the BIG ROCKS are complete.

1. Compiling daily, weekly, monthly, and lifetime reports with key performance metrics to quantify results and communicate findings and insights to management.
2. Coordinate with our supply chain team to ensure products are always in stock, premium quality, have updated packaging, and have all appropriate required certifications.
3. Perform daily advertising optimization techniques, including but not limited to, bid adjustments, negative keywords, keyword additions, and structural changes.
4. Work with tea ---------- mbers to create and run new experiments
5. Stay up-to-date with Amazon PPC & Ranking developments, trends, techniques, tools, and best practices.
6. Monitor competitors and evaluate new strategies they are implementing
7. Monitor competitors identifying new products they are have released and share those findings with the R&D team.
8. Preparing advertising schedules and timelines for seasonal product spikes
9. Identify new competitors and activate PPC campaigns to make it harder for them to succeed.
10. Identify competitors that are copying our designs and share them with our legal team.
11. Coordinate with the customer service team to identify product defects and ways to improve customer satisfaction with each product.

Role Requirements: Experience, Training, and Education

- Experience in strategic planning and business plan development including analytical skills, presentation development and process management
- Expertise with either Amazon PPC or Google Ads/Microsoft Ads strongly preferred
- Advertising agency experience preferred
- Someone who seeks out issues and owns driving solutions to them, while keeping all resources informed of progress
- A proactive learner and able to demonstrate exceptional deductive reasoning skills
- Eager to learn new skills
- Comfortable in different roles, sometimes supporting, sometimes leading.
- Work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- High level of personal accountability
- History of “owing” the job and never ever giving the job back
