JOB OVERVIEW

Data Management Expert (Google Data Studio)

Our Company ---------- ---------- ---------- and on Amazon ---------- ---------- ----------

1. Small (husband/wife and 1 VA currently) expanding company that has grown 30-60?ch year for the last 3 years. 2021 sales were $1.lM.
2. We have about 100 SKUs on Amazon FBA and another 300 or so on FBM and other marketplaces across 5 or so product families.
3. Friendly, very well-received, trademark brand registered, designed in-house products related to printed material for the educational and health markets
4. Our product and customer feedback is Extremely strong. We have loyal customers and they are continuing to repeat purchases and look for new products.

Position Description: We are looking for someone to design and develop (and perhaps maintain) our data management strategy. Currently, we manually pull down various sales, inventory, and other CSV files from Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, and other places and try to manually integrate the data with various Google Sheets. We recently began “playing” with Google Data Studio and we believe this may be a better system to help integrate and analyze such data and use throughout our business.
Here are some requirements for building such a system:
Integrates well with Google Sheets (this is why we believe Google Data Studio is a good choice)
Design is somewhat scaleable so if we want to integrate additional Sheets or CSV files, it can be easily done. Additionally, if we want to add additional calculations or formulas that can be easily done.
We will build this system in phases. The first phase will likely be taking all of our sales data and using it to make predictions on inventory requirements. There will be many phases after this first phase.
Design needs to be fairly easy to maintain and intuitive. We are pretty well versed in Google Sheets. We don’t need fancy interfaces but we are not programmers either.
Relatively inexpensive to maintain - not a lot of hidden fees, or other weird requirements. We are ok with automation (e.g, Zapier) however we could also maintain system with manual approach.

What I’m looking for: We need someone well-versed in the following:
Ability to design, develop, explain, and document a robust data management strategy. You will be responsible for developing the project plan, timing, requirements, etc. (note we don’t need fancy reports or graphs - we are a small team. We need basic reports and data tables.
Proficient in Google Sheets and the best ways to integrate, analyze and store Google Sheet data. This probably means moving such data into Google Data Studio but I’m open to suggestions.
Has experience with Amazon (Seller Central) reports and APIs (ideally we can use APIs for this?). Good understanding of Amazon report fields, how they are used, and limitations.
Experience with Shopify and using APIs overall would be helpful.
Demonstrated behaviors:
Strategic - take the time to understand our business, where we are headed, and our current and future requirements BUT can quickly make improvements to our existing data management.
Very dependable and reliable! You will need to communicate daily on status and upcoming tasks and plan and any help needed. You do what you say you will do. You will be available for consults within 24 hour notice.
Comfortable communicator. We understand our data and are analytical but we are not programmers. We will need you to speak mostly in non-programmng terms.

I’M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO START ON THIS IMMEDIATELY - UP TO 40 HOURS PER WEEK OR FIXED FEE PROJECT. Ideally, I’m looking for someone to be available as the company grows for future projects. If you do a good job, it is very likely we will use you multiple times in the future.

INTERESTED IN APPLYING? PLEASE: Read the above description and provide SPECIFIC commentary on why you believe you would make a good fit for the position (examples, evidence from past projects, results, etc.). Do not ONLY send me a link or resume which requires me to figure it out. You might want to simply mark-up the description and send it back to me with your comments.
