Firmware Engineer

Voltech Instruments is the world’s leading manufacturer of wound component production test equipment. We are seeking an electrical engineer to develop and test firmware solutions for our flagship test and measurement product.
A successful candidate should be able to develop, debug and integrate robust embedded software as part of a small agile team.

Specifications
This position requires the following:
1. Fluent in C and C++.
2. Understand core physical attributed of wound components such as resistance, inductance and turns ratios.
3. Possess strong communication skills to communicate design requirements and challenges.
4. Ability to learn quickly with a desire to continuously improve knowledge.
5. Capable of working to deadlines and follow a planned schedule of work.

Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the following activities.
• Develop user interfaces on a touch screen product
• Design and enhance tests for analyzing wound component devices.
• Build communications stacks for remote control of instrumentation
• Generate documentation of code via strong commenting
• Test code developed code to ensure reliability before release
• Participate in discussions of problems and assist in arriving at solutions that fit within the framework of the project.
