SUMMARY
A tax preparer is a qualified professional who assists clients to file income tax returns. They meet with
clients during the tax preparation process to review financial records, complete all tax forms and ensure
that completed forms follow legislation and regulations.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Goal-driven tax preparer is responsible for advising clients, analyzing tax data, filing and submitting tax
returns. Tax Preparers must ensure confidentiality, must provide excellent service to promote repeat
business, and provide future tax planning to clients.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
? Setting up meetings with clients
? Advising clients about the tax preparation process
? Preparing and submitting tax returns for clients
? Handling communication from clients and tax authorities
? Auditing all tax forms for completeness and accuracy
? Providing future tax planning to clients
? Securing repeat business and expanding the client base.
? Analyzing tax data submitted by the client to maximize the outcome for the client
? Signing income tax returns on behalf of individual and business clients.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
? Registered Tax Return Preparer Text completed
? Knowledgeable in bookkeeping, general accounting activities, tax processing
? Registration with the IRS with a valid PTIN
? Minimum of 5 years’ experience
? Computer literate
? Strong oral and written communication skills
? Must ensure confidentiality
? Familiarity with Taxslayer, Crosslink and Drake is a +
? A very responsive and a self-motivated individual
? Someone who can work effectively with others

? Independent who enjoys working with little direction
