We're currently seeking a highly-experienced, full-time accounting VA (35 - 40 hours per week) to take over our company's accounting department.
One of our co-founders, who would be the first to tell you that he's not an experienced accountant, has become overrun with day-to-day accounting and needs to transition those responsibilities to someone else. The perfect candidate for this role would have strong accounting knowledge, fluent written English, be a very motivated self-started who likes to take initiative, and someone who has strong logical faculties to create dependable accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Your day-to-day accounting tasks will include:
• Downloading invoices from our web ordering portals and uploading them to QuickBooks
• Identifying and fixing invoice errors before they're sent to clients for payment
• Posting paid invoices within QuickBooks
• General bookkeeping
• Initiating withdrawal of invoice balances from client's financial accounts
• Troubleshooting and overcoming software bugs that cause client invoices to not reflect accurate charges
• Communicating with clients through our support system regarding accounting questions (resending past invoices, questions about invoices, etc.)
One of our biggest challenges is inconsistencies/bugs in the accounting portion of one of our ordering
==========
Benefits:
• $8 - $12 USD per hour (depending on experience).
• Includes 10 days paid time off (PTO) each year.
• PhilHealth and SSS included.
• Flexible work hours: apart from the first 2-4 weeks when you're getting on-boarded (which will require working U.S. hours to video conference with our co-founder) you will set your own work schedule as long as you're working the agreed-upon hours each week.
• Generous end-of-year bonuses for dependable tea
==========
Position Requirements:
• Above all else: you have to be a dependable person with high integrity. This is the hands-down the most important requirement for this position.
• Strong understanding of the cash accounting method.
• Complete English fluency and a strong command of written English.
• Comfort and confidence when communicating directly with client accounts regarding accounting inquiries.
• Outstanding time management and organization skills.
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks.
• Detail-oriented and diligent in catching accounting errors before invoices are sent to clients.
• Someone who works autonomously/independently, but also knows when to ask for help.
• A minimum typing speed of 30 WPM. 50+ WPM would be even better.
• A reliable computer.
• A dependable high-speed internet connection that will ensure you don't miss work regularly due to internet or power issues.
• The ability to have weekly calls — preferably video but audio-only is also fine.
• A willingness to log your hours using Hubstaff or similar time / productivity trackers.
• A TransferWise account that I can use to pay you twice monthly (1st & 15th of every month).
