Functional Consultant

Functional Consultants analyze processes, operations, and functions; use their understanding, expertise, and skills in order to formulate the appropriate methods and solutions in building the client's system. They provide feedback and insights from a user and business standpoint on features in development. They are also responsible for ensuring that the quality of the deliverables meets the standards, acceptance criteria and the defined Definition of Done.

The role is a balance of providing technical solutions, aligning and meeting business requirements, and validating and ensuring the quality of the team's deliverables.

Key responsibilities would include, but not limited to:
• Assists the client to identify the business problem, help gather and understand requirements and design the appropriate business and technical solution.
• Collaborate with the team by bouncing ideas, brainstorming available solutions and decide on the best feasible solution to implement so that both business and technical teams can relate and see the benefit.
• Ensures compliance with the client's internal and external company policies and procedures.
• Prepare documents and proper guidelines that would allow other consultants to do further changes or fixes with due efforts.
• Assist in building the product backlog and the acceptance criteria for each user story.
• Prepare, develop and execute test plans and test cases to validate the implementations.
• Ensures that the system is usable, performing appropriately and the business flow is complete, correct and tested.
• Prepare user guides and other functional documentations.
• Conducts proper training for the clients.

• Experience or knowledge of Automation Testing
• Technical Skills and Programming Skills / Background
• Experience in Scrum, Kanban or any other Agile implementation
• Experience as Vendor / Consulting
• Experience in leading a team
