Social Wave is looking for a SEO specialist to assist with the content creation and management operations of our digital marketing agency. You will be working closely with both content writers and the operations team to ensure the written content engine is running as smoothly as possible. If you’re a quick learner and able to keep on top of a range of SEO-related tasks autonomously, then we have the job for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- SEO keyword research and tracking across a wide range of industry verticals
- Recommend and audit changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
- Assist with optimisation and proofing of blogs, and the copy in landing pages for search engine optimization (you will not be doing the bulk of the writing)
- Assist with outreach and development in guest posting and other link building strategies
- Maintain and optimise citations for local SEO, particularly Google My Business
Requirements:
- Proven experience in SEO – you must have knowledge of key ranking factors, search engine algorithms and trends
- Working knowledge of common keyword research and analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Ahrefs)
- Working knowledge of managing and editing social media profiles
- Experience working with the most common website content management systems such as Wordpress and Squarespace
- Experience with Surfer SEO, Frase, Copyscape
- Experience working with collaborative software - Slack, Clickup, LastPass, Dropbox, Google Drive
- Basic knowledge with HTML, CSS and JS to debug common website issues as needed (you will not be asked to code)
- Ability to conduct audits of client websites or social media profiles
* Working hours are 10am - 6pm, Monday to Friday, Australian Eastern Standard Time.
* Applicants must also speak and write English well, and have strong communication skills.
About You:
- Must have prior agency experience
- Strong copywriting experience is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with proofreading/editing
- Good communication and co-ordination skills as you’ll be working with people in different roles and time zones at once
- Ability to learn quickly with a can-do attitude and not be afraid to ask questions
