Technical (web dev) VA here in PH

Hi there!

I'm a software engineer living here in the Philippines, and I'd love to work with a local VA here in Manila - ideally in Quezon City. I speak some Filipino, so some taglish can be fun, but the day to day interaction would be in English.

I'm new to working with a VA, so I greatly value your experience and advice in creating a good working relationship. The only two requirements are a little bit of coding, and being able to help out physically around QC:

- Ability to code, and somewhat comfortable in Javascript, HTML and CSS.

I'd love your help on lots of technical things, but I write code full time, so there's no need for you to solve hard technical problems, build apps or write code full time. Ideally you've built something yourself, even if it's only something small. I'd teach and explain anything specific, and we can always pair program to unblock you if you ever get stuck.

- Able to run errands and help out with things locally here in ---------- 's hard to say exactly what this would be, as it changes day to day, week to week. Perhaps helping out with some hard-to-find groceries one day, or delivering Christmas gift baskets to the local community. Maybe helping find some good deals in upcoming sales, or taking some pictures of apartments in a building I'm considering.


Examples of things I need help with:

- Researching technical topics, taking notes and explaining it to me (so we can both learn!)
- Summarizing technical articles and videos
- Trying out new apps (or new versions) to evaluate if they do what I need
- Trying out new plugins for Obsidian (free note taking app)
- Trying out new extensions for VSCode
- Turning unorganized notes into something digestible and comfortable to read
- Creating automated tests (I'll show you how! No experience necessary)
- Helping me with small coding tasks for little apps I'm building
- Transcribing audio recordings
- Helping me stay organized and follow up on tasks I'm doing


Interests/skills that would be useful (absolutely not necessary - please do apply even if you don't match these!):

- Helping those who have the ---------- thing is more important than ending systemic poverty, to me.
- Design, specifically UI/UX, because I'm bad at it! :)
- Zettelkasten/PKM (personal knowledge management), like Obsidian or Notion.
- Personal productivity and techniques, like pomodoro sessions, Pareto's Principle, etc.
- Enjoying finding good deals, like for 12.12 at Landers, or on Lazada/Shoppee.
- Linux/open source software, privacy and ethical tech.
