Ionic Vue music app (in beta - collaborate with lead dev)

This job is for contributing to an Ionic Vue app that has already been built, and is in closed beta. The tech is TypeScript, Vue 3, Ionic 6 (shortly being upgraded from RC to the recent release), Supabase, and targets iOS and Android. The primary need is to help move the project forwards as I have less time to code these days. Typical things you may be working on:

- Song/playlist management
- Local media management, and using Supabase (similar to Firebase) on the back-end
- Writing unit tests
- Improving the Typescript usage
- Lots of UI improvement, so if you have an eye for design there's lots of room for that too! :)

I live right here in the Philippines, and you'd both be working directly with me, and independently on tasks we define together. You'll be working with me and my ---------- project manager, no layers of communication - I'm the only other developer.

Ideal requirements follow below.

Language:

English, but I understand some Filipino.

Technical:

- Ionic (code is in the newest Ionic 6 beta)
- Vue (code is in Vue 3)
- Typescript
- A good eye for design

Personal:

- Organized: keeping track of work, progress and completeness of tasks.
- Proactive and communicative: signaling early when a project is taking longer than expected, or when unexpected challenges arise.
- Resourceful: able to make progress with and without direct guidance, learning new tech and skills where necessary.
- Empathetic: able to understand our users and make decisions that would serve them best.

Bonus:

- Experience with Ionic development that had some media component (music player would be fantastic)
- Passion for TDD, especially within hybrid app development and Ionic
- Github Copilot
- Vim shortcuts (I use VSCode with Vim keybindings and there's room to pair program and learn together)

Interview process:

1. A short video call to discuss your experience, how I can best support you to do your best work, and how we can collaborate together.
2. A pair programming session on a small test project. One part will be collaborative, one part will be individual. This work will be paid, even if you don't get the contract.
3. A trial period with lots of collaboration.
