Senior Accountant to Lead a Small Accounting Team

We own 7 small companies and are looking to hire full-time Senior Account to lead a small accounting team. Ideal candidate will have several years of experience and a proven track record of working with a team to ensure proper and accurate ---------- panies consist of:

Construction company
Land holding (real estate) company
3 product distribution companies
1 law firm
1 corporate housing company (AirBnB type company)

Skills Needed

Be well-versed with Quickbooks (Desktop via Remote Hosting), Microsoft Outlook, Excel Spreadsheets

General familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles, cash based US tax accounting and accrual based US tax accounting

Manage internal controls to ensure book keeping is accurate.

Manage month-end and year-end close for each company.

Prepare management reports based on management requests focused on COGS, profit, gross margin, project costs, and more.

Familiar with US tax laws, no tax reporting or tax return preparation ---------- panies have US tax accountants for tax returns.

Able to manage electronic syncing with banks for bank statement downloads or bank statement downloads if bank syncing doesn’t work.

Good English writing skills to help with AP/AR and other issues that come up.

Understanding of construction company / completed contract accounting.

Understanding of product distribution company accounting.

Able to manage a team of 1-2 and to report to executive management.

Manage invoicing

Manage inventory counts, month end inventory ---------- anized with questions to executives, batching questions once a month for review.

Ability to see patterns and trends in bookkeeping, assist bookkeepers in the same.

The companies use a variety of software. While we don’t expect the candidate to know all the software, someone on the team must have a comfort level with learning and pulling data from different platforms is a must. List of currently used software: Shopify, Magento, Odoo, Big Commerce, Avalara, Gusto, ---------- your response please let us know what software you’ve worked with in the past.

As part of this team we will be hiring 1-2 bookkeepers. We think it’s best that the person that we hire for the Senior Accountant position to help identify, interview, and hire for these positions since they will lead the team and work closely with the ---------- pensation/Hours

40 hours per week
Working hours can generally be local timezone but the position will require occasional meetings and calls in the U.S. Central Time Zone
Payday will be on the 15th and last day of the month
Thirteenth Month will be paid
