Cosmetic Chemist

We are a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative and pre-eminent consumer products.

We require an experienced Senior Formulation Cosmetic Chemist to join our very busy cosmetics team.
This role will be formulating new, innovative cosmetic products and introducing them into the market.

You will be responsible for developing, improving, formulating and creating new cosmetic products as well as the modification of existing product lines.

The role will require you to:
Research – conducting research and experiments, GLP, investigating products, chemicals, production and processes;
Product development – developing cosmetic products, generating prototypes, testing and verification;
Scale up - Take your approved lab work and deliver full scale up production to manufacturing.

Your essential skills should be:
• A tertiary qualification in chemistry or chemical engineering (or similar) – postgraduate studies in cosmetic sciences would be highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years' hands-on cosmetic formulation experience with knowledge and experience in the costing of materials when developing products significant practical laboratory experience.
• Strong analytical skills to analyse the data often used to conduct experiments
• Critical thinking skills to test solutions before developing the final version of a product.
