Packaging designer

Job description: Package Designer / Administrative support
Guide the design process from beginning to end. Conceptualize design and execute prototypes for attention-grabbing packaging and materials, using design elements such as shape, color, graphics and typography to create packaging that is functional and appealing to customers.
The following responsibilities can be expected:
• Knowledge of basic budgeting.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team. Must be very organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the packaging process and maintenance related processes.
• Expert knowledge of United States national and regional food safety regulations.
• Leads the design process in a multi-tasking environment for packaging materials for products, including brainstorming, sketching and creating prototypes
• Evaluates consumer and market trends for packaging materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborates with marketing and creative teams, especially other graphic designers and copywriters, to create eye-catching designs.
• Works with the President to understand client needs and presents by Power Point with sketches and design software; ensuring a successful representation of our brand.
• Redesigns graphics and prototypes based on feedback from clients, engineers and consumer safety groups
• Experience with package design, including creation of dielines and prototypes, is a must.
• Strong portfolio with a variety of samples that demonstrate your creativity, attention to detail and knowledge of market and consumer trends. Familiarity with different packaging materials is helpful. A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or industrial design may be preferred, and successful candidates have a strong knowledge of creative tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, 3D software programs and photography.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and rectify mistakes. Provide input and assistance from several different groups, so strong interpersonal abilities and project management skills are helpful.
• Liaison and support with factories located in China, Vietnam, meeting deadlines, coordinating packaging and design activities. Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point. Amazon experience a plus.
