JOB OVERVIEW

Hello VAs! I'm a Harvard-educated computer scientist and web developer currently writing and deploying my first web application, and I will soon need help marketing it. You will need to have excellent English for this position, since you'll be sending emails to bloggers, columnists, etc.

Basically, the website is a place where you can send and receive anonymous advice to your friends and co-workers (using their email addresses), so you can tell them things that will help them improve personally and professionally but are hard to say in person (like "I really don't like your new haircut", or "You need to smile more often when you talk to a client", or "You talked too fast in the speech that you gave on Monday"). You can try it out here:

(It's still under development right now, so it may not work so well at the moment.)

This will be my first time marketing a website, so I'll be looking to you for your guidance and expertise. The marketing budget is very small, so I need someone who can think about cheap ways to get the message out. I imagine this will entail:

* emailing technology columnists and bloggers to make sure they know about the site
* posting about the site in social media
* creating social media pages about the product on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

In your job application, please tell me about a few ideas you have for marketing this site.

This is a part-time position for now, perhaps 3-5 hours a week, so it's just for someone who wants to make some extra $$ on the side. Compensation will be based on your skills and experience, but I would expect to pay something in the $2-$10 / hour range. If I'm pleased with your work, there will be plenty of opportunity to increase your role in the future.

I can't wait to see some of your ideas!
