System Administrator & User Support

We are looking to hire a System Administrator to join the Symo Global/Parsimony team. If you're hard-working and dedicated, Symo Global is a perfect place to grow your career. Parsimony is based on the ERPNext open-source software built on the FRAPPE framework.

We have created some of our own internal management and we have also contributed to the open-source core over our development cycle. We will continue to develop and contribute to the open-source community while building our own special tools and resources that are purpose-built for our clients.


Responsibilities for System Administrator:

Support for new user onboarding including set up and proper role management within different company ERP systems is a key area of responsibility. Some of the day-to-day SYS ADMIN tasks are being done by the company President which is a bad use of company resources.

Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtual machines within the framework of our system ---------- stall and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.

Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of reported issues.

Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Lead desktop and help desk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.

Responsible to support discussions about capacity, storage planning, and database performance.

Qualifications for System Administrator:
1. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
2. 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience.
3. System administration and IT certifications with Amazon AWS, Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus.
4. Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
5. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
6. Experience with scripting and automation tools.
7. A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
8. Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing help desk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
9. Knows and understands the processes laid in ERPNext is preferable or knows ERP software and can support implementations for customers.
