Your Role
As a Payroll Specialist, your role is process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions, compute wages and deductions, and enter data into computers. You’ll have to review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies, compile employee time, production, payroll data from time sheets and other records, and also process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system and verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records. You also need to record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records, issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases, keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave for employees, provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions. You will responsible to distribute and collect timecards each pay period, have to keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process, balance cash and payroll accounts, and also complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits, such as pension plans, and unemployment and medical insurance.
Also, you have to complete time sheets showing employees' arrival and departure times, prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements, and prepare post relevant work hours to client files to bill clients properly. Lastly, you need to compile statistical reports, statements, summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and submit them to appropriate departments, train employees on organizations' timekeeping systems, and coordinate special programs, such as HMO Benefit that involve payroll deductions.
About You
For you to become a successful candidate for this role, you must be a bachelor’s degree holder in Accounting, Psychology, Business Administration and/or any related course. Have an establish experience in payroll and all HR Facets - Compensation and Benefits, Timekeeping, Labor Relations, Training and Development, and an experience in a BPO company is plus. You must also have a knowledge in Accounting, HRIS System - JustPayroll/ADP, MS Office software, Google Spreadsheets/Docs, and other tools related to documentations. . Also, you need to be knowledgeable in Data Analysis and have Problem Solving and Critical Thinking skills.
