Software Engineer/ Full Stack Developer - PHP focus

About This Position
As a Software Engineer / Developer Consultant you will work to design, build, and support many of the core client-facing systems powering Marty Capital’s business. Our team works in a highly collaborative, flexible structure to build towards high-quality, client-facing outcomes.

You will be responsible for working directly with business leaders, designers, and project managers to scope and plan the implementation of new features and functionality across our suite of applications. You will then help execute that work, overseeing it from hand-off through to deployment and maintenance.

This is a remote position, and you will be working under the direction of our management team.

Responsibilities
You will:
Design, develop, and maintain core features of our mobile and web applications and the API that powers them
Exhibit and ensure technical excellence across you and your team’s contributions, setting and adhering to best practices for well-tested and clean code
Help plan and implement new features.
Track progress of engineering tasks within sprint cycles, identifying and mitigating technical and delivery risks as they arise.
Respond to business requests, and investigate and fix bugs throughout the codebase

Qualifications
You have:
At least 3 years professional software engineering experience
**Expertise in building Shopify applications & WordPress applications.
**Expertise in backend technologies, specifically PHP, ideally with experience with React, Ruby on Rails, Python, and/or Java.
**Expertise in web-development technologies, specifically with Javascript and modern CSS.
Good command of object-oriented and functional programming best practices.
Experience supporting and scaling consumer-facing web and mobile applications, and familiarity working with third party ---------- erest in working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-functional work environment - including working independently and on a team.
