Senior UX Designer (Part-Time, 100% remote)

Process automation has been a growing area of investment by companies globally, accelerated by the challenges of COVID-19, which has only intensified the need to digitise and automate. However, despite 54% of companies spending more than $250,000 on automation last year (Salesforce, 2020), 11 in 12 projects fail, and only 8% of successful organisations are able to scale up their digital automation processes (Robocorp, 2021; Deloitte, 2019). Such a failure rate is unsustainable for small and medium-sized businesses.

SilkFlo is a SaaS platform utilising analytics and machine learning to effectively qualify, analyse and increase the success of digital automation projects for SMEs.

To date, we have:
Completed extensive customer research
Developed proofs of concept
Conducted customer conversations with numerous consultancies and other institutional stakeholders
Created most of the requirements documentation needed for the prototype
Created most of the UX/UI needed for the prototype (still need more)
Graduated from the Founder Institute London 2021 Spring Cohort, the world’s largest pre-seed accelerator (article here)
Have an experienced Board member who grew Automation Anywhere’s partner base to 3000 in just 3 years
Have over 16 LOIs from big customers eager to try the product
Have recently been accepted into the Microsoft for Startups program, with lots of free Azure credits and Enterprise software seats.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our team part-time.
You should be driven by the quest to perfect the consumer’s digital journey. The Senior UX/UI Designer will help our team solidify our brand now and into the future.
Reporting to the CEO and the Technical co-founder, you’ll facilitate the creation of fresh, new, conceptual interactive experiences within web design, UI design, branding, and consumer education for our products, content, and services.
This is an integral role in shaping and enhancing SilkFlo.com from a technological, interactive, and user experience perspective.
You’ll build out high-fidelity prototypes and demonstrate your vision to larger audiences.

Responsibilities
Design and build conceptual interactive web experiences and features as proof of concept to demonstrate more engaging, delightful possibilities
Proactively identify new ways to grow our business through great user experiences.
Generate detailed design specs that allow web developers to build experiences accurately
Promote creativity and innovation within the team
Champion the idea of brand integration across all owned channels and cross-functional partners
Leverage existing design system components while also contributing enhancements to existing components where necessary
Lead design sprints and prototype quickly.
Work with Full Stack Engineers to code front end components, as needed.
Partner with CEO and conduct user research to deeply understand our customer's goals and needs.
Ground your designs on customer and user insights.
Leading focused design workstreams with complex scope. Every design element has a reason.

Ideal Qualifications
At least 5 years of relevant professional design experience working on SaaS products.
Portfolio showcasing prototyping, UX, UI, and visual design work for web, mobile and desktop
Expertise in high-fidelity prototyping programs (Figma, Adobe XD)
Proficiency in design principles with a strong sense of typography, colour, and content hierarchy
A balanced understanding of user research, prototyping, interaction patterns, and user testing.
You are passionate about the latest design trends and have a solid understanding of UX best practices.
Ability to balance expert design with business objectives
Thrive in a team environment where collaboration and communication are key
Excellent communication, time- and project management skills

Bonus Points
Front-End Web skills (HTML, CSS, Javascript, Vue.etc.)
Experience designing for variable data (CMS-driven layouts)
