Our main company which operates in the independent optometry sector was established in 1984 and is still very active, servicing over 2000 optometry practices across different states in Australia.
We have a fantastic team of Philippine-based marketers, designers, software engineers, loan processors, and credit scenario specialists, which we are now looking to expand.
About this Job:
Our group believes in the role of content marketing in promoting the many businesses that we support. Hence, we would like for a highly creative and experienced Senior Content Writer to join our team to help create outstanding and engaging content – both for online and offline media platforms. The Senior Content Writer is going to be responsible for creating, improving, and maintaining content, content strategy, content ideation, and content standards for all of our businesses. He/she needs to demonstrate leadership by overseeing all marketing content initiatives to ensure and promote brand awareness, lead generation, search engine ranking, and a positive customer experience whenever external markets are interacting with our brands.
Responsibilities:
• Develop content strategy aligned with our businesses’ objectives of increasing website traffic, leads, and customer engagement.
• Spearhead an annual and quarterly content calendar including at least one quarterly campaign and one weekly blog post, among other ongoing necessary written pieces including press releases, customer success stories, one-pagers, slide presentation copy, and more.
• Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews, and professional studies) for the quarterly content calendar.
• Creates content marketing concepts closely with the Marketing Head and Director/Owner to plan and develop digital marketing content,
• Write all blog articles, eBooks, white papers, success stories, press releases, speaking proposals, one-pagers, and more.
• Build strategic and high-impact copy for landing pages and website pages.
• Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic.
• Proofread and edit all content before publication. You should be able to ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone). All written content produced should be checked through Grammarly.
• Oversees and edits content from third-party or freelance writers as needed.
• Optimise and manage content considering SEO and SEM best practices.
• Working with other teams within our businesses to identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content for you to be able to recommend new topics.
• Monitor, gather, and interpret content marketing metrics.
• Lead brainstorming, developing, and publishing of content across web properties and social channels to increase web experience.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate the editorial calendar to align with cross-functional initiatives.
• Partner with the Marketing Head and Director/Owner to ensure that our content is in compliance with various policies affecting our businesses.
• Stay up-to-date with content marketing trends, best practices, benchmarks, and reports and to apply those to our own content marketing approach.
• Update website content and copy as needed including building landing pages.
• Repurpose content and ensure effective content syndication to optimise the content’s value.
• Conduct media outreach when appropriate for public relations article placement.
• Coordinate interview copy for media outlet requests for publication.
• The Senior Content Writer should be able to assist the Marketing Head and Director/Owner other areas of digital marketing as well.
• Perform other work-related duties as needed.
Requirements and qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional writing experience is preferred.
• Knowledgeable of the fundamentals of SEO and keyword research.
• BA/BS degree is required preferably in marketing, business, or communications.
• Strong knowledge of various marketing and analytics tools such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce), and content management systems
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly skilled in writing and editing content with attention to detail and timelines.
• Adept in writing for the Australian market.
• Proven content development experience across multiple communications channels.
• Strong prioritisation, organisation, and project management skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize deadlines accordingly.
• High level of integrity, originality, confidentiality, & accountability.
• Self-motivated, pro-active, results-oriented, time-conscious, a team player, and highly professional.
We will need the successful candidate to work alongside the team based in Australia, ideally from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Philippine time), daily. You have fixed weekends off. You may be allowed to change your schedule but only upon the approval of our
