PetroBeacon is currently looking for a new software developer to join us in developing leading edge software for large enterprise companies. PetroBeacon requires a dedicated full-time individual who is comfortable working remotely with an international team based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. PetroBeacon is a small company and has been in business for over 7 years with tea ---------- mbers in multiple countries. We pride ourselves in being an effective team working together to advance our company, as well as each other to provide cutting edge technical solutions. We are looking for a long-term tea ---------- mber who will be a core member of the company. PetroBeacon is a company focused on data and data quality by providing both products and services to enterprise clients. Working with databases, flat files, raw data sets is a daily activity.

The position is for an Intermediate or Senior Software developer that will be primarily responsible for maintaining and extending an existing system built by PetroBeacon, secondarily aiding with new projects built using modern web technologies.

REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS:
• Operating as a self-employed entity with a dedicated full time contractual position from PetroBeacon.
• Developing data-centric software in a deadline driven environment.
• Working with a team of software developers, business analysts, architects, clients.
• Capable of self-managing their own workload to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Working with a production system with active users.
• Handling sensitive information in a responsible manner.
• Comfortable with application deployment to test and production environments.

REQUIRED SKILLSET:

Languages & Standards
---------- - C#: Entity Framework, ASP.NET MVC, modern development practices
XML, JSON: Common file formats
HTML / [removed] Front end web technologies
SQL: Complex queries & TSQL
WPF & WinForms: Desktop user interface experience not required but helpful

Databases & Cloud
SQL Server ---------- Database servers, proficiency with SQL ---------- dexes, Views, Functions, Permissions, etc.
Microsoft Azure: Azure portal & basic administration
Amazon AWS: Experience helpful but not required
Oracle: SQL & basic administration helpful but not required
No SQL: Azure Cosmos DB helpful but not required

BitBucket GIT: Code Repository
Remote Desktop: Access to remote machines
Jira: Task Tracking / Project Management
Jenkins: Continuous Integration / Build automation

Libraries, Technology, Design Patterns
Client / Server: Used in MVC web applications
Inversion of Control: IoC is leveraged in most PetroBeacon ---------- Entity Framework: Code first and Database first
Office 365 Integration: Security authorization using Microsoft Graph.
