PHP/Perl developer

TeeGrasp - is a search a search engine for t-shirts and custom apparel. Our web crawler scouts the internet to find t-shirts, sales and social media data which forms our product offering for t-shirt designers and marketers. Our sister website TeeRaid - helps consumers find t-shirts for them to buy.

Do to strong growth we are looking for a sharp thinking, reliable Perl developer to help us reach our business goals.

Tasks:

- Help us develop our backend crawler, writing efficient code that runs super fast with minimum CPU and memory requirements
- Work on new, exciting front end features
- Assist customer support team with technical queries
- Bug fixing

Experience:

- Perl/PHP - these languages are similar
- MySQL
- Git
- Memcached
- Linux (Ubuntu)
- Front-end: HTML/CSS/Jquery

About you:

- Fluent written and verbal communication in English
- Punctual, eye on the clock attitude and who can complete tasks to the set schedule
- Start your email/cover letter with "Gusto ko durian kaayo"
- Fast learner, who can grasp new technologies and adapt to new situations quickly
- Mathematically minded

This is a full time home working position working 40-50 hours per week, you should have NO OTHER JOB. We require 100% commitment.

TeeGrasp is a UK company but our team is mostly based in Davao. Nagpuyo ko sa Davao dugay na, kabalo ko mubisaya. We will put preference over Davao candidates for an in person interview.

Assessment will be done through a Perl task - you will be asked to write no more than 50 lines of Perl code within 24 hours, before proceeding to an interview.
