Senior Storage Engineer

Skills & Job Responsibilities:
• Provide On-Call 24/7 support on a rotating basis
• Understanding the customer requirement and providing solutions in Private Cloud
• Deploy, Configure, Administration of SAN Fabric Brocade & Cisco MDS Switches
• Configuration and administration of IBM DS8K, A9K, V5K & V7K storage arrays
• Migration & administration Cisco MDS, Brocade switches
• Experience in Storage migration of other vendor storage devices to IBM Storage arrays
• Experience in Storage Migration of IBM A9k to V5k Storage Array
• Harden the Fabric SAN switches & Storage arrays
• Security Audit the Fabric SAN switches & Storage arrays for any compliance & Vulnerability issues
• Architect solutions and Performed system migrations from OS level to the storage level
• Deploy the IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager for IBM storage arrays’ external encryption
• Administrator the SKLM Keys and take backup of encryption keys every week
• Replicate SKLM Keys from Production to standby Server
• Perform Cisco MDS, Brocade Director & Edge Switches firmware upgrade
• Experience in Perform firmware upgrades for IBM Enterprise, Midrange and Entry-level storage arrays
• Technical skill & passion for resolving complex problems and business challenges through innovations & technical research for Enterprise Storage arrays & SAN fabric switches
• Co-ordinate with vendor & data centre operations team for a new installation, configuration & Hardware replacements for IBM storage arrays
• Expertise in providing end to end solutions for all HP 3par, NetApp, IBM & EMC storage environments including troubleshooting and maintenance
• Extensively work on IBM DS8300, DS8700, V7000, V3700, V5000, V7000 & DS5000 Storage arrays
• Preparing technical architectural and implementation design documents and working with the project management to develop the implementation plan
• Participated in Business Continuity Planning and DR strategy including documenting of DR procedures for SAN/NAS environments, and executing DR drills
• Configuring and troubleshooting of local and remote replication for IBM Storage arrays
• Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify storage related problems
• Zoning and troubleshooting the Brocade & Cisco MDS Fabric switches related issues
• Troubleshooting the performance issues with CIFS, NFS in NetApp storage arrays
• Configuration and administration of CIFS, NFS shares and exported to the servers
• Troubleshoot the performance issues in IBM & EMC storage arrays
• Configure and manage all the VMAX, DMX & Symmetrix model boxes using SYMCLI
• Configure & manage all IBM & Lenovo Server Blades
• Configure & Troubleshoot Boot from SAN related issues
• Installation, Configuration and Maintenance of VMware ESX Servers & Virtual Center Servers
• Configure High Availability (HA) and Distribution Resource Scheduler (DRS)
• Create and manage VMFS data stores in Vcenter
• Configure additional ESX server to the existing production cluster in Vcenter
• Configure storage LUNs for VMFS and raw disk mappings (RDM) in Virtual Infrastructure

Knowledge & experience requirements on Storage Devices :

• A broad knowledge of SAN and Storage equipment/operating systems with detailed experience with IBM DS8300, DS8700, V7000, V3700, V5000, V7000 & DS5000 Storage arrays, Hitachi and EMC VMAX
• Experience in Cloud Storage ie. Azure STORSIMPLE
• Working Experience in Brocade SAN switch
• Experience Backup tool like Networker, Commvault etc
• Experience in using ticketing systems and use of monitoring and management tools • Experience in Data ONTAP 7.3.3, 8.0.1, 8.1, Cluster-Mode,On-Command, System manager, Element manager, SnapMirror, SyncMirror, SnapVault, OSSV, SnapManager, Data Fabric operations manager, SnapDrive, FlexShare, Filerview.

Key Performance Measures :
• Ticket SLAs and KPIs are achieved.
• Escalation procedures, policies and working practices have been adhered to.
• All records relating to Service Requests, Incidents, Problems and Knowledge Management are completed accurately and within an agreed timeframe.
• Projects are delivered in line with project quality standards.
