Looking for Web Design Ninja For Full Time Job! PSD2HTML/Wordpress, responsive design, website updates & maintenance.

Hello there and thank you for checking out my job post.

My name is John and I'm in need of somebody talented like yourself to help me grow my online empire!

I'm currently looking for a coding superstar. Somebody that eats and breathes web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, responsive design and frameworks, and of course: Wordpress (and MAYBE a little jQuery/JS). An eye for design doesn't hurt either!

First of all though, let me tell you a little bit about my business:

I work with a diverse clientele of small businesses in Houston, TX who need simple, Wordpress-based websites to make them look good online. Sometimes I use a simple WP template to get them started, sometimes I'll create a PSD and then chop it up into beautiful code. It just depends on the project.

I also own a few online businesses that need updates on a consistent basis. This can range from updating the design, uploading content (which I will provide you with), sharing it on social media, creating landing pages for new products (again, I write everything for you), maybe create an email template for a newsletter every now and then. No worries, I'll provide you with the design and content for everything. No writing required on your part.

All of these are based on Wordpress and super easy to update and maintain. Just need you to take the lead and help me move away from constantly dealing with the tech side of things so I can focus 100% of my energy into creating content and products for these little niche websites.

So here are the things I'm REALLY looking for in you:

1. Wordpress experience is a MUST: Know WP's file structure, best practices, how page templates work (e.g. if we need to create a new landing page), how to make updates to posts/pages, etc. Pretty basic stuff for most web designers today I think.

2. Know CSS like the back of your hand: A real web ninja not only understands HTML5, but also CSS3 and all the wonderful things it can do – for whenever we need to break the mold and get a little creative.

3. Responsive Design: If you are a true web geek (like I am), you know that mobile is the future. Knowledge of responsive frameworks like Twitter's Bootstrap and Foundation are HIGHLY preferred. You don't have to be an expert, but at least understand how rows, columns, and how to use these frameworks so any website will look amazing on any device.

4. Somebody that understands English well (written and spoken): I'm not trying to be rude if you don't. Please understand that I don't care if you make grammar or typos. I also don't mind if you'd rather not get on a phone call. I don't expect you to or will need to talk to any customers at all. I AM trusting you to write clear messages to me, as well as follow my instructions on recorded training screencasts/videos I'll make for you. Obviously, email/written communication will also be a big part of it.

5. Know your semantics: I love coding with a passion. Even more importantly, I love CLEAN, well-written code that follows best practices in order for all the websites that I put out thereto do and rank well on Google. If you know your craft, you know exactly what I mean.

OTHER ADDITIONAL SKILLS (Not required but VERY nice to have):
- Eye for design: Knowledge of current aesthetic trends in Web Design (minimalism, flat design, etc.)
- Online marketing: SEO, keyword research, email marketing
- Ecommerce experience: Experience using shopping carts (WooCommerce, Shopify, Bigcommerce).
- Wordpress Genesis Framework experience a plus.

Hopefully I haven't scared you off! Like I said, the main thing I'm looking for right now is a well rounded Web Designer that loves coding (and not just using templates). I am more than willing to teach you a little about all the latest web technologies like Bootstrap, Foundation, etc. – but you MUST have solid fundamentals of HTML, CSS, classes, media queries, etc.
