1. Job Purpose
Technical Account Specialists are in charge of establishing sales objectives and handling all sales activities in order to fulfill these objectives. Their main responsibilities include planning sales goals and strategies, developing new accounts and/or sales opportunities, handling sales and after-sales service to customers and generation of project and sales reports.
1. Duties and Responsibilities
1.1 Planning of Sales Targets and Strategies with the Team and Managers
a) Establish sales targets and objectives
b) Create, develop and implement sales strategies to meet the established target
c) Plan and organize sales activities including trade checks, symposiums, trade shows and others
d) Identify new methods and techniques which can contribute to sales growth
1.2 New Account/Sales Opportunity Development
a) Identify sales opportunities – new projects or attack business with new and existing customers
b) Provide customers relevant information about the products and services the company sells
c) Prepare and promote promotional campaign materials – samples, prototypes, documents and presentation
d) Develop product concepts, prototypes/tool kits and presentation in collaboration with TID team
e) Prepare price quotation and negotiate with customer
f) Participate at trade fairs and other events
1.3 Handling of Sales and After-Sales Service
a) Generate sales for the company
b) Compile and track POs in coordination with the customer service and incoming requirements of customers
c) Manage stocks/requirements of the customers in coordination with the planner and buyer
d) Monitor outstanding accounts in coordination with the Accounts Receivable Team
e) Handle customer complaints
f) Coordinate with the service group for order processing and delivery scheduling in accordance to client PO and delivery request
1.4 Generation of Reports / Data Summary
a) Input all sales activities in ACT system
b) Input all projects in ACT system and in templates that may be required by the supplier
c) Generate sales forecast for reference of supply chain in managing inventory
d) Prepare sales reports as required by the management
e) Compile data on competitors’ products, prices and activities
f) Manage customer profiling on accounts handled
1. Qualifications
1.1 Education & Experience
a) Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Food Technology or the like
b) At least 1 year experience in the industry – technical sales and/or product development
