JOB OVERVIEW

Hello, this is a bit unusual. I am a student in college and I am not a fast reader. For the next 2 years I will need to read 15 pages on average in two books every week.

I also work full time and drive about 2.5 hours each day. I can easily listen to these 30 pages a week while I drive, but I find it much harder to read on the weekends when my homework is due. I'm cramming to get the work done, and I can do far better if I've done the reading regularly.

I am looking for someone with more of an American-type accent, or at least a very clear reading voice. These will be technical college manuals and not fictional stories, so I need to understand you clearly.

What will I do: I will pay for you to rent the books, most likely from Amazon, but there are a couple of other places. So you will not have to pay to get your hands on the books. You can port them to Kindle or some other place so you can read them.

I would prefer that the reader be able to record their voice without children, traffic, emergency vehicles, pets or other background noises. Maybe you accomplish this by recording after hours? I leave that up to you.

I have read many books from a site called ---------- . The company has a book player that allows for me to modify the speed of the narrator (I usually go 1.2-1.3 speed). There is also a handy jump back button that allows me to instantly rewind the narrator if I need to hear something ---------- usually instantly rewinds 15 seconds or 30 seconds any time I press it.

If you can not only record the chapters, but find a great player that I can use from the apple store that will allow for me to modify the speed of your narration and also jump back and bookmark parts of the book, that would be amazing!

I do not know what a job like this should pay, I am, sadly, a poor student studying for a better life.

Is this your first job? Great!
Is this a job you want to do around your other work? Great!

I care less about your resume as much as I care that you can get me a chapter or two (some weeks it may be 2 chapters, but we have a syllabus and I can tell you ahead of time. So most weeks you are reading and recording about 30 pages of college textbooks.

Please introduce yourself to me, let me know why you are the best person for this job, why I should hire you and what you bring to the table (a quiet recording space, knowledge or audio players compatible with your recordings).

Please let me know how many hours you believe it will take a week to do this job, as well as what you'd like to earn from this job every week.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
