The role

Due to an increase in business demand, we are currently recruiting for the role of teaching assistant. This role is completely online and will require you to work from home. Due to the global nature of our business we are looking for someone who is available to work shifts that will cover weekends and both day and night shifts. The role of a teaching assistant is to support our teachers and students by completing administrative tasks, replying to student emails and interacting with students during live online classes.

Job Specification

Main Responsibilities

Administrative tasks include but are not limited to these tasks:
Checking student entitlements.
Ensuring students' course information is up to date.
Creating and sending teaching scripts to teachers.
Updating our online platform with dates and times of live lessons.
Coordination of tasks with the academic department.
Supporting students by replying to emails in a timely manner, this will require some knowledge of IELTS and extensive knowledge of our course.
Ensuring that we always deliver a high quality service to our students.
Hosting Fluency Practice Sessions - these are online sessions that students can attend to improve their fluency and practice speaking English with other students. Your role would be to host the session, split students into groups, check in on each group and ensure that the sessions are adhering to our guidelines.
Engaging with students on our online platform.
Respond to feedback on the quality of your work and be open to improving your skills.
You will proactively report any problems you encounter to your line manager and/or the rest of the team.

Qualifications & Experience

Native-level English.
An in-depth understanding of English grammar.
IELTS knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication skills both through the spoken and written word.
Highly motivated and ambitious with the ability to work independently.
Enthusiastic and open to feedback.
Flexible and open to change as we constantly strive to improve systems and processes.
You should have the ability to solve problems yourself but also ask for help when you have exhausted your own attempts at solving the problem by yourself.
A high level of comfort using software and technology.
There are also administrative tasks that will need to be carried out such as updating spreadsheets so it's essential that you have superb IT skills.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory reference check.
You must also have a reliable laptop or desktop with audio and video capability.
Your internet access should be very fast (at least 5 mb/s down 5 mb/s up).
This role requires you to work from home.
Your working environment should be quiet and free from distractions.
